The statistical applications on the galaxies and AGNs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
Abstract: The Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS) provides the largest spectroscopic samples of galaxies and AGNs by far. Statistical applications on these large samples have revealed lots of clues on the formation and evolution of galaxies and AGNs. In this talk, I will present our statistical applications on the galaxies and QSOs in SDSS: (1) the statistical nature of the brightest group galaxies; (2) the tilt angle between the accretion disk and stellar disk; (3) the cosmic dust extinction implicated from the composite QSO spectrum.
